Poverty Rate of Uganda
• UNICEF estimates that there are over 2 million orphans living in Uganda.
• One out of every seven children in Uganda is an orphan, with many subsisting in usually-wretched 600+ orphanages, where abuse and neglect is common.
• Study from Humanist Global Charity claims that 50% of all Ugandan orphans were tossed into their dire situation by HIV/AIDS. WHO data says 28,319 Ugandans died of AIDS in 2020, 10.91% of all deaths.
Our Impact
• The children we help are separated from their parents for various reasons, some because of poverty, abuse and neglect or negligent treatment. We’ve rented a house for them, but we aim to build our own in the near future.
• Our job is to raise awareness in the society concerning issues that plagued these children.
• Our first step is to identify the child and their needs, then we try to find their roots and get to know them and their problems. We develop wings that counter problems like a lack of access to education, poverty, abandonment and most recently child abuse and trauma.
• Mission of love orphanage is still growing and has a team that’s deeply dedicated to the mission of touching the lives of abused, neglected and disadvantaged children.
• We reach out to children through a family-centered approach to minimize friction, stigma and disharmony, while at the same time maintaining a focus on children who are most in need of safety, permanency and well-being.
• Building partnerships help us in identifying solutions and building plans for our children’s future. We work in collaboration with local government authorities, traditional structures, community-based organizations (CBOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and youth groups to bring about this change.
• We aim to care, support and protect vulnerable children by focusing on their immediate survival needs such as food, water, shelter and clothing, as well as placing an emphasis on their long-term developmental needs that would reduce their vulnerability (through education, life skills training.
